Engaging Seniors with Technology
Four Rivers Outreach CDC in Partnership with Cyber-Seniors is committed to keeping senior citizens socially connected through technology. Our partnership provides senior citizens with tech-training using an intergenerational, youth volunteer model. Young people are provided with lessons and learning activities to train them to act as digital mentors and senior citizens gain access to effective technology training and intergenerational communities that keep them socially connected and engaged.
Four Rivers Cyber-Seniors program teaches older adults how to use necessary communication tools like Zoom, Facetime, and Google Hangouts. Then we take it to the next level, with volunteers teaching them how to connect on Facebook, YouTube, play online games, and more. This program is a way to engage seniors in their communities, family, and friends. Are you an older adult interested in participating in the Four Rivers Cyber-Seniors program?

Tech Connect Assistance
We invite you to learn how to use your tablets, laptops, desktops, and smartphones with Cyber-Seniors. If you or someone you know needs help with using a computer, iPad, Smartphone, etc., call
843-900-3689
We want you to be a part of the growing community of learners who are opening new doors in their lives through digital literacy.
We encourage you to make a habit of meeting with our trained Tech Mentors and participating in our webinars and online activities — the more you do on our website and in your mentoring sessions, the easier it will be for you to use your device as a tool that will keep you informed, healthy, self-reliant, and connected.
Volunteers Needed
All of this is possible through our team of intergenerational volunteer mentors. We invite teenagers, young adults, and tech-savvy individuals of any age to help us deliver essential tech support to seniors. Your volunteer experience will include participating in group technology training webinars (either as a presenter or part of the Q &A Team) and providing one-on-one telephone tech support to senior citizens. It’s easy to become a volunteer! Click below to fill out our volunteer interest form, and our program administration staff will reach out to you.
